The Forbidden Ranger,Part 1

"Alright,everyone grab a cup of coffee and we can get started"said Halt.Horace raised his hand.
"What if we don't like coffee?"he said.
"Then..just take a seat.We have much to discuss."said Halt.
Will growled"Where is Gilan with the coffee?He knows we can't do anything without it."
"Calm down,he'll be here."said Horace."Hey,why did I have to come and 'discuss' with you?I'm not a ranger,just a warrior."
Halt sighed,"Because we need everyone here for the subject.Except King Duncan,he must NOT know about this."
"Why not?"said Will."What could possibly be so horrible to keep the king from knowing?"
"Trust me Will,once you find out you wouldn't want to tell him either."said Halt.
"Alright,I trust you on this."said Will.
"Alright! I'm here and lets get started!"yelled Gilan coming in the room.Will and Halt looked at him,empty handed.Gilan tilted his head."What?"
"Where..is..the..coffee...?"said Halt.
"I-I thought Horace was getting it this time."said Gilan.Will put his hand to his face.
"Oh Gilan..."he said."Halt's gonna kill you."
"You were suppose to bring the coffee!"yelled Halt."How could you possibly forget that?!"
"Well I'm sorry,the world is going to end and-"said Gilan.
"And It's all your fault!"said Halt.
"I was being sarcastic..."growled Gilan.
"I wasn't"said Halt.
"Can we just get this over with...?"said Will.
"Not until I get some coffee."said Halt.
"You know,the world does not revolve around coffee."said Horace.Halt clinched his fist  and jerked Horace by the collar.
"Take that back."he said in a calm tone.
"A-h Alright-I take-It back!!"yelled Horace.Halt let go.Horace rubbed his neck."Uh..."
"Never tell that to Halt."smirked Will."He gets cranky if he doesn't get his dose of caffeine."
"I swear don't make me choke my own apprentice."said Halt.
"Gesh just kidding,now can we please continue the subject we were on?What is so important that you wanted to tell us?"said Will.
"Well,back when I was young-"he said.He was interrupted my Horace's snickering.Halt sighed."There was this Ranger,her name was Liana.She used to be one of the bests-"
"Wait,she was a she?"said Will.
"Please stop interrupting."said Halt."She was very good with a bow,as all Rangers are,but she was different,Duncan could tell.She was about Duncan's age during that time,which was about twenty or so.Duncan saw her as,and I quote,'the most beauteous woman he had ever saw',and then the gossip started."
"Even back then ranger's gossiped?"said Will."I didn't know gossiping was invented during your time."
"I swear if that was an old joke.."said Halt."Let me continue,so Duncan was supposedly going to propose to her the next day.Well word got around and nobody saw her since."
"Good story,but what does it have to do with anything?"said Will.
"Because,Svengal and Erak sent King Duncan a messenger,telling him that he captured a girl,who looked to be in her forties or late thirties.His description nearly matched Liana's appearance."said Halt.
"So,what your saying,Is we have to go to Scandia and go get her?"said Will.
"Exactly,Erak said since we assisted him on the invasion a while back,he would hand her over to us."said Halt.
"What if she is not the girl we are looking for?"said Will.
"Hm,well then it would be a waste of time."said Halt."But before we go,we must get some coffee."
"Fine,well go get some coffee!"yelled Will grabbing his bow and leaving.
"Alyss,honey,what's bugging you?"said Pauline.
"Oh,nothing."said Alyss.Pauling laughed and walked over to Alyss.
"Something is bugging you."said Pauline."Now,what is it?"
Alyss sighed."I don't know,something just doesn't feel right.."
"You fell that to?"said Pauline."I thought it was just me,but I guess were both feeling something."
"Yea,like some kind of trickery is about to unfold.I'm scared,and I don't know why."said Alyss.She gazed out the window and saw a shadowy figure move through the trees.Alyss saw long brown hair and a cloak flapping in the wind."Lady Pauline,do you see that to?"
"Yes,doesn't look like one of the men does it?"said Pauline."We may have a trespasser on our hands."
"And I don't see anyone after it."said Alyss."It's tempting to go tell Will and the others."
"We probably need to,this could be dangerous."said Pauline.
"You know what."said Alyss."Grab a weapon or two and we can chance it down."
"Us?Were ladies and could not possibly do so."said Pauline.
"If Halt were in danger you'd do it."said Alyss"Now,we can do it."
"Alright Alyss,I trust you."said Pauline.
She ran trough the woods like a wily fox,tripping over nothing as she ran.I must let no one find me,they believe I'm somewhere else,she thought.She jagged her foot in the ground making her slide in a stop.She drew her bow and quickly knocked an arrow on the base.She stood still,ready to fling at any moment.She heard nothing but the chirps of birds.She heard the wind whistling in the air.She knew someone was there,she could tell.
"Who goes there?"she said.There was no reply.She growled."I know someone is here,I'm not stupid and I can hear the slightest of sounds."
Again,no reply.She then heard a sneeze.She quickly pulled back her arrow and slung it to her west.She heard the snack of her bow.A yelp and then another bow smack.She heard the arrow before she saw it.She blew and grabbed the arrow shot at her.She held the arrow in it's place.
"Nice try,but I can tell an apprentice's shot from another."she said.
Halt stepped from the trees."Liana,how nice it is too see you again."
