Eps 8:Darkness

Kat layed in her bed,eyes closed,but not asleep.She wanted to go back home,where she belonged.Not here,at her old school.Kat knew she belonged at the DWMA.She wanted to forget everything that happened here.Meeting Mac,finding out that her step father was Lord Death,and the argument with Soul.She wanted all of that to go away.And she might even regret reviving Asura too.Who knows,she might regret going to the dance Friday.Kat regretted everything she had done here.She just wishes all of this will be over soon.So she can go back to her regular routine at DWMA.Getting up in the morning,and dissecting something,then relieving her stress at potion paints.Then the rest of the day goes by so quick.Kat yawned and dozed off to sleep.And she had the worst nightmare yet.
Kat woke up in a dark room,she might have been outside,she couldn't tell.She got up,feeling grass on her hands.She was outside,but where?She got up,barefoot,she walked toward nothing.She continued to walk in the dark.She still wondered where she was.
"Hello?"she said."Anyone here?"
There was no response.Nothing but silence.Kat sighed knowing she wasn't getting anywhere.She continued to walk.Her feet tingling with every step.She saw something ahead.Like a fire,some kind of flame.Kat now jogged toward it.It was mesmerizing,the flame.She found herself upon the fire.It was on a pedestal,made of laminate.The fire was burning with everything it had,but it couldn't burn through the laminate.Kat wanted to touch it.
She reached out and felt the flame.She didn't retaliate,by swiping her hand away.Instead she kept her hand there.It felt warm,yes,but not fire hot.It felt almost like a fire who's flame is going out.The fire still burned with flair.Kat enjoyed the touch of the fire.She was not getting burned.Even if she was,she couldn't feel it.
"Kat!"she heard someone yell.Kat looked into the darkness.She didn't see anything.Except for one.It looked like a soul.Red,with Maka's scythe pattern.Kat saw Soul's soul.She didn't know how,but she did.Could it be possible that she could see souls before the person died.Either that or Soul was dead.
"Kat! Don't get any closer to the flame!"she heard him yell.Kat pulled her hand off the flame.She still saw the soul,in mid air.It was freaking her out.
"Where are you..?"she asked.
"I'm right in front of you!"he yelled.Kat knew she could see souls.
"I'm sorry everything is dark.."said Kat."And I see a soul in front of me.."
"You've already been affected.."he said."This is bad,Kat we need to leave before-"
Kat heard a crash.She had no idea what it was.
"Before what?"she asked.
"It's too late."said Soul."Kat we need to fight Asura."
"But,we can't kill him.That is the only reason I revived him,so I don't have to go through seeing fear like his again."
"Oh Kat,again I must thank you for reviving me."said someone.Kat knew it was Asura."Going through all this,just to bring me back."
"Asura,w-where are you?"said Kat.
"I know,you can't see anything but darkness.And you can see only souls.Your wondering why you can't see mine."said Asura."Because a certain someone took it a few weeks ago.Remember that?"
"I remember."growled Kat."Asura,I can still fight even if I can't see you."
"You want a bet on that."said Asura.Kat heard silence after that.Kat felt pain in her shoulder.She felt,and there was a gash.And she felt another stroke in her leg.
"Asura! This is not a fair fight!"yelled Soul.
"Who cares if it is.I finally get to kill my most hated enemy."said Asura.Kat had no idea she was his enemy.She wondered why that was so.
"Asura! What have I done to become your worst enemy!?"yelled Kat.She felt another cut go to her side.Kat was still standing amongst the pain.
"Kat! The only way you can defeat him is to-"she heard someone yell.They were cut off by Asura.
"Alright,I aways knew I'd have to get rid of you sooner or later."he said.Kat heard someone yell in pain.She saw another soul.It was blue,with something that looked like talons coming out the sides.She had no idea who it was.
"Soul,what happened?"said Kat.
Soul sighed."Asura stroke down Mac."
That was Mac's soul.Kat ran toward it.She knelt down beside him.
"Mac..."she cried.She had no idea how Asura had killed him.She just knew she was going to get her revenge.She got up,and closed her eyes.She told herself,use your other senses.Forget about sight.Kat heard something swish through the air.She jumped to the left and she heard something slam on the ground.Kat had dodged an attack.She knew this was the answer.Kat grabbed something.She felt rough texture and knew it was one of Asura's extensions.She whipped it up and turned it over.She heard Asura slam on the ground.
"Kat is getting the hang of it."said Soul."She is using her other senses."
Kat heard something,maybe a blade ricocheting off the scabbard.Kat had heard that Asura had eaten his weapon.She still thought that was sick.She didn't hear anything else.She felt the room get warmer.Then very hot.She jumped to the side trying to avoid something.She knew he attacked,but didn't know what.
"Kat you can't fight like this."she heard someone say.She saw another soul.She knew who it was to,Dr Stein.
"I'm doing pretty well right now."said Kat."I believe I can do this myself."
"You can't.Some of his attacks you cannot detect."said Stein.
"I can do this myself!"said Kat.
"Kat,as your father I must protect you."he said.
"No,your not.I will fight my own.I am more powerful than you think I am."said Kat.Kat heard something.She moved toward the left.She had dodged another extension."See I can fight Asura without any help."
"Look out!"yelled Soul.Kat couldn't hear anything.She didn't feel anything.Then she heard ricocheting again.She guessed the extension off of something.
"Spirit,hold on a little longer"said Stein.'
"Doing my best."said Spirit.When did Spirit get here,thought Kat.Apparently Stein was blocking the extension with Spirit.
"Oh please,you can't block my moves with a simple Death Scythe."said Asura.
"Hey! I happen to be Lord Death's Death scythe thank you very much!"yelled Spirit.
"Alright,if you two wish to take Kat's place and fight me.I accept your challenge."said Asura.
"Soul,take Kat out of here."said Spirit.Soul ran over to Kat.She felt him grab her and lead her out.They were somewhere and Kat heard an explosion where they had came.She looked,and fire was everywhere.Kat wondered how she could see fire.
"Soul,what's going on.."said Kat.
"I don.t know."he said."I don't know."
Kat woke up,staring at the ceiling.She sighed knowing that was all a dream.She looked at the clock and it read four.Kat got up and wanted to go tell Soul about her dream.She left the room and went to go find Soul.She didn't understand her dream.By what she knew by her past dreams,it was going to happen.She didn't understand the darkness.And the soul seeing part.She really didn't want to relive Mac dying.He might not though.In her last horrible dream Soul had died.But that was Madness getting to her.She had told Madness to never come in her again.And it left,and had never came back.And it wasn't,as long as Kat could stop it.
She walked into the living room.She snickered when she saw that Kid and Black Star was in the same position Soul and her had left them.She saw Soul asleep in a recliner.She nudged him.He was still asleep.She sighed and hit him.
"Hey!What was that for?"he mumbled.
"Hush,I need to tell you something,but we need to go outside."said Kat.Soul nodded.Kat got him out the chair and they went outside.
It was cold outside and the wind was blowing.Perfect weather for a private meeting outside.
"Ok,what do you want to tell me?"he asked.
"I had another dream.But this time I couldn't see but Darkness."said Kat."And all I could see was souls.And fire,but I don't think that counts."
"Ok so Everything was dark,except for souls."said Soul.Kat nodded.Soul sighed."Lord Death spoke of that once.When one is put in total darkness.Only Asura can have the ability to do someone in that trance.And it is almost impossible to get someone out of it."
"But it's possible right?"said Kat.
"It is,but very rare occasion.Kat are you sure that what your dream was like.If it was we need to alert Lord Death immediately."said Soul.
"Yes,I am positive.Then Asura taunted me to a duel.I accepted.He started to win,then I.Then Dr Stein took my place to fight."said Kat."Then you lead me somewhere,and where the fight was an explosion went off."
"Kat there was something else.What else happened."said Soul.Kat didn't want to tell.She couldn't bare the thought.
"Asura killed Mac."said Kat.Soul sighed.
"Alright we need to contact Lord Death."said Soul."He'll know what to do."
