Eps 13:Black Blood Inside Me

Kat missed her mother's realm.When she went to her old school her mother raised her here.While most normal people were raised in the small town outside of their school,Kat was raised in a whole another place.She had no idea exactly where her realm was.She just knew that who ever wanted to come needed a portal to it.Kat loved the smell of the fresh Katalinias trees in the morning.Her mother named her after the tree.Kat also loved the running stream that was a few miles from her house.Hardly anybody lived in the realm.Darkness and evil was in the air 24/7.But Kat loved it here,as if this was her realm instead of her mother's.
Kat felt the soft clay on her feet.She missed it,yes,but she really didn't want to be in here much longer.She could tell someone was watching them.She told Lizzy to go to weapon form,and that they needed to be prepared to fight at any given moment.Lizzy nodded and changed into the Viper sword.Her weapon was to originally consist of nothing but Black Blood,like Ragnarok.But when Kat found Lizzy,she didn't care about the blood anymore.So now Lizzy was a Viper Sword ready to strike at any enemy.She was also very powerful as well.She had destroyed all the elements with an ease.Kat heard something.She told everyone to hush.They listened.
"I don't hear anything..."said Soul.Kat shushed him."I was just saying I didn't hear any-"
"Hush!If there is something our cover is blown because of you!"Kat hissed with a slight whisper.
"Heh,heh,alright.."said Soul a little scared by Kat's sharp tone.Kat sighed giving a warning to everyone else.She told everyone to proceed along and that hopefully they would find her mother soon.In about ten minutes,Kat heard running water.The stream,she thought.
"Follow me,I hear a stream.We are close to my mother's house."said Kat.Kat was right,in a few more yards they reached a river.Kat saw it,but it didn't look right.The water was black,when it was crystal clear to begin with.Kat knelt down beside the river.She ran her hands through the water.It was thick like blood.Kat then realized,it was blood.Black Blood.
"Alright does anybody have any scrapes or cuts on their legs?The river has been infected with Black Blood and it would suck if somebody had a cut on their lag."said Kat.
"How deep is that river?"asked Soul.
"Up to my stomach."said Kat.
"Wait,Kat.Your wound,you can't go in the water."said Soul."The black blood will go in your wound."
"I guess your right..."said Kat."Somebody will have to carry me over."
"I'll do it!"yelled Soul immediately.Kat laughed knowing Soul would do it.Soul picked up Kat and they headed across the stream.It was like walking through syrup.It wasn't a normal river to begin with,but the blood made it stranger.The flow of the river was going at a slow rate.Eventually everyone arrived across the river.Soul set Kat down on the grass.She smiled and they were off.
Kat listened to the tune of her mother's song in her head.Or was it in her head? No,it wasn't in her head.It was the real sound of the song.But where was it coming from?
"Guys do you hear the lullaby?"asked Kat.Everyone nodded.Kat sighed and headed on.She found her mother's house.A small cottage,not bigger than a barn maybe.She loved the rough walls of the old house.Kat walked by a small crack in the house.That was where her mother was teaching her sword techniques with Lizzy.Kat smiled at the memories.Kat heard her mother's tune louder.She knew it was coming from inside the house.Kat told everyone to hush.She gripped Lizzy and charged in the door.
"Mother?Where are you?"said Kat.Kat saw her mother,not in any harm.Kat then realized she was sitting at a table,with two plates."M-mother what are..you doing?"said Kat.Her mother looked over to Kat in shock.
"Kat?I wasn't expecting you."she looked at Soul and the others.She sighed,then hid her disgrace with a slight smile."Oh,and you brought friends.."
"Are you alright..?You called me and you said you needed me to come."said Kat.Her mother tilted her head.
"No,I never called you.Honey are you sure it wasn't a dream?"said Medusa.Kat shook her head.
"No,I am positive it was real.And you were panicking like somebody was about to kill you or something."said Kat."And I heard someone in the background."
Medusa sighed."And you heard my lullaby coming here didn't you?That's because Dr-"
"Mother."said Kat cutting her off."Please tell me...that.."
"That?What is it Kat?"said Medusa.
"That you sang the lullaby that we said held powers to..."said Kat wanting to bite her tongue when she said this."Dr Stein?"
Her mother crossed her arms."Kat,and what would be the problem with that?"
"He is a horrible man!The river outside your house a few miles down! It is not flowing with thick black blood instead of clear water."said Kat.
"And he did that how?"said Medusa.
"You don't understand!Something is fishy about him.We believe he is an accomplice with Asura!"yelled Kat."It makes perfect sense! He pinned Maka,Lizzy and I down to the bed this morning!And I know it was him because he used his stitch wavelength things!"
"Kat,why on earth would he do that?"asked her mother.
"Becuase he didn't want us to get out of bed to find him because he knew we know about him and Asura!"said Kat.
"Kat! How dare you criticize one of your professors! He is not evil and he is not grouping with the Kishin!"boomed Medusa like a mother.
"Actually.."A voice said."She is correct."
Kat grinned not even looking who it was.Because she knew it was Stein.And it was.Kat crossed her arms and continued to smirk.
"Kat is true."he said."For once."
Kat uncrossed her arms."Hey!For once?!I've been right about almost everything since I've came to this school!"she shrieked.
Stein shrugged and lit his cigar.That is another reason why she hated him.He always smoked in class.Kat couldn't bare the smell.
"Kat,I believe you know.But it still won't change anything."said Medusa."He's already asked me to-"
"To...what?"said Kat.She picked on this last part and said in a fancy accent."Offer you hand in marriage?"
Her mother didn't say anything.Kat put her hand to her mouth."No..please don't-don't tell me he..."
He mother nodded and showed her her hand.Kat saw a ring,of course.Kat staggered backwards not believing what she had saw.Kat couldn't help but let one tear drop.Kat ran out the house.
"Kat wait!"yelled her mother.Kat ignored her and kept running.She ran and ran,tears staining her eyes.It couldn't be possible,she thought.Her father to be Stein.No,she had to stop it somehow.She was not going to let this happen.She ran and ran.She came upon the river.The black blood river.She thought her world was coming to an end.Asura was tracking her down ready to kill her.And her mother was going to marry a creep Kat didn't like.Kat felt like just diving into the river being consumed by the black blood.But she knew better not to.She knew it would be painful.And she couldn't handle any more pain.Kat heard something.A voice,a slight voice.And it was coming from the river.
"Help..me..I am drowning.."Kat hear softly.
"Who are you..?"asked Kat.
"P-please help me!I am drowning..please.."Kat heard someone choke.Kat couldn't let someone die,just because she wanted to know their name.Kat reached her hand into the river.She got about shoulder deep.
"How deep are you?I can only go this deep."said Kat.Kat heard nothing.She did feel someone grab her hand.How could someone drown in a river if it was only waist deep,Kat thought.She felt sharp pain as if someone had cut her hand.Because someone had cut her hand.Kat tried to pull it back up,but the grip was strong.Kat felt the black blood inside her.She finally pinched the holders grip and slid her hand out the water.Kat stared at her hand.There was a huge gash on it.Now bleeding Black Blood.Oh now I am going into Madness no problem,she thought.Be careful what you wish for remember,it could come back,she thought to herself.Her hand was seething with pain now.She wanted to go get  everyone and leave this horrid place.She grabbed a wrap of bandages from her bag and started to wrap the injured hand.She looked at it,and it looked suspicious with one bandage.So she wrapped the other hand the same way so it would look like black gloves.She heard some footsteps from behind her.
"Kat..are you alright?"said a voice.Kat sighed knowing it was Soul.She sat down by the river.
"No,not really."said Kat.Soul sat beside her."Why do you care?This is family business."
"Kat,come on.Do you really think I would come all this way if I didn't care?"said Soul."Come on,you know me better than that."
Kat wondered if she should show him her hand."Soul..I want to show you something.But..you have to promise not to tell ANYONE."said Kat.
"I promise.."he said.
"No,you have to triple slap biscuit swear.Something me and Lizzy did when we wanted something a secret kept."said Kat standing up.Soul stood up.
"I swear to that pledge thing.I swear."he said putting his hand to his chest.Kat sighed.
"Something cut me in the river."she said unwrapping her hand.Soul saw the gash and black blood drying.
"Kat you need to get that checked!"said Soul.Kat covered his mouth with the wounded hand giving him a warning.He squealed when she did that.
"Hush,I don't want anyone to know.Then they know I'll be going into Madness.Because I know I am with this fate."said Kat.Soul pushed away her hand.
"I haven't gone into Madness yet.And I have Black Blood in me for a few weeks."said Soul.
"But it's stronger in me.I am a witch and I am easier to convince."said Kat."Soul just face the facts.I am going to drop into Madness and I will be evil like Asura."
"Kat,don't think that.Asura did that so you would get your hopes down.Now come on lets go get everyone and get out of here."said Soul.Kat nodded.
"Alright,but I won't go to the wedding."said Kat.Soul smirked and they went to get everyone.
